Cork Wine Festival Top Tips

The O’Briens Winter Wine Festivals kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 07/11, in the Clayton Hotel Lapps Quay in Cork. The event is completely sold out, so a huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets.

To make the most of your evening, here are a few top tips from the O’Briens Wine Team

1.SIGN UP FOR A MASTERCLASS: This year for the first time we are conducting Masterclasses at our Cork session. These are intimate, 20 minute tastings with a selection of our winemaking partners, tasting through a selection of three of their wines. The Masterclasses are included in your ticket price but spaces are limited to 20 people and will be assigned on a strict first come, first served basis on the evening. These are sure to be very popular, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

There are three Masterclasses arranged:

2.PLAN YOUR WINE ROUTE: I do not recommend the Herculean task of attempting to taste every single one of the 228 wines! Take a few minutes to look through the Wine Festival brochure and focus on a style or grape and try tasting as many of those wines as you can to help you refine your tastes. Here is a quick guide on how to download the brochure to your smart phone before the event.

Don’t worry, we will still have your printed copy of the brochure to give you on the day which is included in the ticket price, as well as your free Tipperary Crystal glass.

3.KNOW YOUR LIMITS: We ask our guests to please use the water stations to stay hydrated and also avail of the spittoons provided. Guests are welcome to taste as many wines as they wish but we encourage every individual to taste responsibly and know their limit. We would like to thank our water sponsor, Tipperary Natural Mineral Water, who will be providing the stock for each of our water stations.

We look forward to seeing you at The O’Briens Cork Winter Wine Festival 2019.

Please Enjoy Alcohol Responsibly.
