As tangy as it wants to be
The Full Review
Riserva Classico are held for at least 24 months in barrel and 3 months in bottle. This gives these wines time to settle and come into themselves, and this wine is great example of a that. The Colorino has folded into the Sangiovese becoming one with a soft medium body and a broad, tangy mouthfeel that shows aromas of sour cherry and soil with a hint of oak in the form of tannin which provides a smooth backbone to the well placed acidity. The floral notes, another classic Sangiovese aroma, are there, but only as a whisper, quietly fading into the background, settling into the complexity of the wine. There is an earthiness to this wine, a step away from the common high-tone wines of Radda, that makes you want to sit with good friends and share a meal.
